A Speech by V.I. Lenin
Obviously there were many issues with the Soviet Union, there was persecution, lack of free speech, etc. which only continued once Stalin took to power, not to mention that they never even achieved Socialism, let alone Communism. Political repression only began to die down after Stalin’s death. There is much to learn from the Soviet example, to learn from it’s mistakes and to ensure that they do not happen again. But to hear their side of the story helps to explain why so many in Russia still cling to the ideals of the Soviet Union, and why more than half of all Russians favor a return of the Soviet state.
